Frequently asked questions
Are the ProfileMatch tutorials free?
Yes. Every lesson is free to read, with no signup or paywall. Copy the code examples and run them on your own machine.
What should I learn first if I want a tech job?
Pick one language (Python or JavaScript are friendly starting points; Java or C++ are common in interviews) and get comfortable with variables, control flow, functions and basic data structures. Then add the area your target role asks for - web, backend, data or cloud - and layer in system design once you have built a few things. Work on communication and problem-solving skills alongside; they decide interviews as often as technical depth does.
Do soft skills really matter for getting hired?
They matter in two places: behavioral interview rounds, where you are asked to describe how you handled conflict, deadlines and feedback, and day-to-day work, where clear writing, prioritization and collaboration decide how effective you are. The soft-skills lessons here come with scripts and templates you can reuse.
