Rare event? Never trust accuracy alone; open the confusion matrix.

When only 1% of transactions are fraud, flagging nothing is right 99% of the time and catches no fraud at all. The confusion matrix splits results into caught frauds, missed frauds, false alarms and correct passes. Those counts reveal what a single accuracy figure hides.
