Trick to keep in mind+3 XP

A placeholder is not a value: turn -1 and 9999 into 'missing' before you average anything.

Sentinel numbers such as -1 are how a form says 'nobody entered this'. If left as numbers they pull means down and look like genuine, strangely young patients. Convert them to a proper missing marker first, then choose deliberately whether to fill, flag or drop.

Read it once, then a question tests whether the trick stuck.
