A settings class is a form with required fields: bad input is refused at the door.

Binding a whole prefix to one typed record groups related settings in one place. Adding @Validated checks the values during startup, so a negative multiplier stops the app before any passenger meets it. Binding still happens at boot, so changing a value means a restart, not a live reload.
